We are extremely fortunate to have a number of parent helpers volunteer their time to support our school. In particular, voluntary work in our canteen and in the classrooms for guided reading sessions.
Without volunteers in our canteen, this service would by unavailable to families at our school. Even an hour of your time would be greatly appreciated.

It can be difficult for teachers to teach 25-30 students all reading at various levels. Volunteers allow teachers to group their students into small reading groups. Sessions are approximately 30-40 minutes and volunteers are provided with guided readers and questions for the students in their group. The improvement in student reading levels as a result of this initiative has been outstanding

Volunteering at our School
Whether your kids are just starting kindergarten or entering the final year of primary school, there are many good reasons for parents to volunteer at school. It’s a great way to show your kids that you take an interest in their education, and it sends a positive message that you consider school a worthwhile cause.
Parents can never underestimate the appreciation teachers have of this support. The additional hands make essential targeted learning and smaller group work a possibility.
